About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Advisor to join our team at The Industry School. As a key member of our People team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and support to internal and external stakeholders on a wide range of critical WHS functions.

Key responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and maintaining WHS policies and procedures, monitoring WHS performance, conducting regular site inspections, and completing risk assessments. You will also be responsible for comprehensive WHS reporting, overseeing the development and maintenance of our Work Health Safety Management System (WHSMS), and reviewing and reporting on major incidents.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in WHS or minimum Cert IV in Work Health Safety
  • Rehabilitation and Return to Work Advisor qualification and experience
  • Minimum 4 years health, safety, and environment experience in Australia, with a solid knowledge of federal and state legislation related to HSE programs
  • Effective communicator at all levels across diverse groups of people
  • Collaborative, active listener with the ability to add value and work effectively within teams
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated analytical thinking
  • Demonstrated strong capacity to manage time and schedule with the ability to prioritise activities based on risk
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills for a variety of audiences
  • Working with Children Blue Card and driver's licence
