Join our ICT Team as a Database and Systems Administrator

Perth College is seeking a skilled and motivated Database and Systems Administrator to join our Information and Communications Technology (ICT) team. This role is central to ensuring the reliability, security and performance of the School's ICT environment, supporting teaching, learning and administration across the School.

As Database and Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration of the School's databases, Microsoft 365 services, authentication platforms and core systems. You will play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making, supporting integrations between systems, and maintaining best practice in ICT operations.

This is a full-time ongoing position.

About the Role

The Database and Systems Administrator will:

  • Administer and support the School's Microsoft 365 environment, servers, databases and identity management platforms.
  • Ensure system reliability, security and disaster recovery capability.
  • Manage database performance, integrity and reporting including supporting dashboards and analytics through tools such as Power BI.
  • Develop and maintain integrations and APIs between enterprise systems.
  • Support data governance, security and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with ICT colleagues and stakeholders to deliver reliable systems and provide specialist advice to staff.

To be successful in this role, you bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and endpoint security.
  • Experience in database administration (preferably Microsoft SQL Server), including data integrity, reporting and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with API integrations, authentication protocols and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer service mindset.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a busy school environment.
  • Knowledge of School LMS platforms, or the ability to quickly learn.
  • Eligibility to hold a current Working with Children Check.
