About the Role:
As a Food Service Assistant at Anglicare Sydney, you'll play a vital role in providing nourishing meals to our residents.

About You:

  • Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or aged care is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness are essential for maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • A genuine passion for working with older people and enhancing their quality of life is crucial.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective teamwork and resident interaction.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently, with a focus on maintaining residents' dignity and independence.
  • Alignment with Anglicare's Christian ethos and values is essential.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices is required, or a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, presentation, and serving of meals to residents.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, dining areas, and food service spaces.
  • Assist in meal setup, including setting tables and ensuring all utensils and crockery are clean.
  • Deliver food and beverages to residents in the dining room and, when necessary, to their rooms.
  • Ensure dietary requirements and preferences are met for each resident.
  • Collaborate with the broader team to provide holistic support to residents.
  • Collect, clean, and store dishes and utensils after meals.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive community atmosphere within the care facility.
  • Follow health, safety, and food hygiene standards at all times.
