Emergency Department Nurse

Prospero Health & Social Care is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Nurse to join our dynamic team in Western New South Wales. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Assessment and Triage: Assess, triage, and prioritize patients based on their condition and severity, ensuring timely and effective care.
- Medication Administration and Treatment: Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by the medical team, maintaining accurate records and monitoring patient progress.
- Collaborative Care Planning: Work closely with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans, addressing individual needs and goals.
- Patient Monitoring and Documentation: Continuously monitor and document patient vital signs, progress, and any changes in condition, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Emotional Support and Education: Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families, promoting understanding and empowerment.
- Emergency Procedures and Interventions: Participate in emergency procedures and interventions as needed, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor in high-pressure situations.
- Safe and Clean Environment: Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring a healthy workspace.
- Registered Nurse Qualification: Possess a current registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia.
- Emergency Department Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in an emergency department setting, with a strong understanding of emergency nursing principles and practices.
- Advanced Life Support Certification: Hold Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification, demonstrating expertise in critical care and emergency response.
- Triage Training: Possess triage training, enabling effective assessment and prioritization of patients.
- Excellent Clinical Assessment and Critical Thinking Skills: Demonstrate exceptional clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, making informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration with colleagues and patients.
- Ability to Work Effectively in a Team: Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team, prioritizing tasks and managing workload in a fast-paced environment.
