About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join Laing O'Rourke Group as a Power Platform Governance Lead, responsible for leading key activities in power platform governance, user community support, solutions development, and user skills development.
As a subject matter expert, you will work closely with business teams and Power BI champions to deliver governance, design, and deployment of standards. You will also oversee a Power Platform Specialist who will support you in delivering governance, design, and deployment of standards.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and Evolve Power Platform Governance: Develop and implement governance frameworks, including application life cycle management, development standards, guidelines, and guardrails, deployment standards, corporate branding, and certification.
- Design Assurance: Provide design assurance for visualizations built by product development teams, ensuring they meet business requirements and standards.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Microsoft Releases: Monitor Microsoft releases and identify opportunities to leverage new features and tools within the business.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate. The ideal candidate will have:
- A Microsoft Certified or undergraduate degree in a related field.
- Extensive experience in developing new Power Apps model and canvas-driven apps, as well as enhancing existing apps, including the use of Dataverse as a data source.
- Experience automating business processes with Microsoft Power Automate.
- Ability to create custom connectors for Microsoft Power Platform.
- Experience with API or Rest services integrations.
- Understanding of how to implement solutions with multiple data sources.
- Providing Power BI reports and dashboards development and support.
- Solid understanding of creating SQL Server database tables and stored procedures.
- Experience working on agile projects.
- Great communication skills, with the ability to tailor your message and language to your audience.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into solid advice.
- Ability to work in dynamic, multi-functional teams within the organisation and its ecosystem.
- Demonstrable working experience in a business analyst/software engineering/technical engineer position.
