Job Overview:

The Aboriginal Economic Development Directorate seeks a highly skilled Deputy Director to support the delivery of strategic priorities and initiatives that promote economic growth and self-determination for Aboriginal people, communities, and businesses.

About the Role:

This key leadership position will work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop and implement innovative approaches to improve economic outcomes. The successful candidate will possess excellent advisory and communication skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships and lead high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with analysts, service providers, and Aboriginal stakeholders to design and deliver effective strategies and projects that enhance economic opportunities.
  • Provide expert advice and support to senior leaders on policy development and implementation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regional stakeholders, government agencies, and private sector organizations to inform policy and drive economic growth.
  • Develop and implement business plans and projects that promote economic empowerment and self-determination for Aboriginal people and communities.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in providing expert advice and support to senior leaders on strategic decision-making.
  • Strong leadership and partnership-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and advisory skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective strategies and projects.
