Role Overview

The Aboriginal Economic Development Directorate is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to support the delivery of Departmental priorities and strategies that improve economic outcomes for Aboriginal people, communities and businesses.

Main Responsibilities
  • Embed an Aboriginal lens in all work programs to ensure culturally sensitive practices and policies.
  • Sustain and develop strategic partnerships with regional stakeholders, government agencies, the private sector and Aboriginal organisations to drive economic growth and prosperity.
  • Support aspirations that grow the Aboriginal business sector, improve employment and training pathways, and deliver economic benefits to Aboriginal communities.
About You

We are looking for an individual who can advise on effective ways to engage Aboriginal businesses and organisations in shaping new policies and programs. Key skills and experience include:

  • Providing expert advice, reports and briefs to senior leaders on Aboriginal economic development initiatives.
  • Designing innovative approaches to improve economic self-determination and promote Aboriginal business opportunities.
  • Leading a team to identify, develop and deliver initiatives and projects aimed at supporting the establishment and growth of Aboriginal businesses.
Location and Opportunity Type

This is an ongoing, full-time Identified opportunity based across New South Wales, with preference given to candidates based regionally.
