About the Role:

We're open to expressions of interest for chefs and experienced cooks for fly-in, fly-out (FiFo) positions on our remote oil and gas mining camps. Ventia's cooks pride themselves on creating hearty catering services to all field-based staff on our remote mobile camps to provide a home away from home in remote and diverse country across Queensland.

Our FiFo mobile camps roles allow you to work independently in the kitchen, bringing your culinary skills and 'home-cooked' style meals to the table. You will be preparing a variety of meals from breakfasts, snacks, desserts, nutritional, and hearty dinners, catering for approximately 8-35 field staff and reporting directly to the camp manager.

Duties:

  • Provide high-quality, nutritious food to our employees and clients.
  • Manage and run the kitchen autonomously.
  • Cooking, food prep, cleaning of the kitchen, and assisting with ordering.
  • Strict adherence to all HSE policies, procedures, and safe food handling practices.
  • Contribute with a high level of customer service.
  • Assist with transportation of meals, general cleanliness, laundry services, and other ad hoc duties as required.

Skills & Experience:

  • Qualifications in commercial cookery, food safety, or similar are advantageous, but not essential.
  • Manual driver's license mandatory.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate or willing to obtain.
  • Current National Police Clearance Certificate or willing to obtain.
  • Flexible availability (including night shifts) with the ability to work away from home for extended periods.
