This role involves overseeing the delivery of statutory planning services within the Growth and Investment Department.
- Lead and inspire a team of planners to deliver high-quality planning outcomes.
- Provide expert guidance on development approval processes and ensure compliance with policy, legislation, and service standards.
- Manage complex and major planning applications, including project coordination and decision-making.
- Represent the council in tribunals, hearings, and stakeholder negotiations.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree or diploma in Town Planning, Urban Studies or Urban Geography with several years of relevant experience.
- Proven senior-level expertise in major project planning, with a strong background in growth area planning.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and coach a team of staff and consultants.
