About the Role

This part-time contract position is available until August 2026, working 28 hours per week (4 days). The ideal candidate will be able to work in our Counselling and Mediation Centre in Wollongong on Wednesdays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) services to families post-separation who are experiencing conflict and unable to reach agreements about children or property.
  • Provide FDR through online video appointments, legally-assisted mediation and child-inclusive practice.
  • Work collaboratively with a dynamic team of professionals to support families holistically.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, or eligibility for accreditation. If unsure, please contact the relevant authorities. Uniting will require evidence of eligibility.
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, psychology or social work.
  • Understanding of child-inclusive mediation practice and its processes.
  • Knowledge of family law legislation and its applications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of community services, especially those relating to families experiencing relationship difficulties.
  • Understanding of child protection issues and their impact.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and contribute to a team; excellent communication, organisational and writing skills; computer literacy; ability to meet client targets.
