This role involves supporting client tailings and mine waste management teams to ensure their facilities are safe and compliant with industry standards.

  • Civil/geotechnical/tailings dam design;
  • Geotechnical analysis using various software packages;
  • Understanding of tailing deposition modeling (Muk3D);
  • Geotechnical and environmental site characterization;
  • Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems;
  • Project/task management and proposal preparation support;
  • Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications;
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead projects including tailings storage facilities and water storage facilities;
  • Apply geotechnical and civil engineering principles to design and manage these facilities;
  • Develop and implement effective instrumentation monitoring systems;
  • Prepare comprehensive engineering reports and proposals;
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field;
  • Advanced degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field preferred;
  • Professional registration preferred but not essential;
  • Engineer of Record required;
  • 8+ years of directly relevant experience in consulting or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Knowledge of geotechnical engineering software;
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment handling multiple project assignments;
  • Excellent writing and communication skills;
