A career opportunity exists within our Milling Department, as an Assistant to the Miller.

The role involves engagement with the operation of our grain conditioning process, supporting the effective running of the flour mill. Responsibilities include operating and monitoring grain conditioning machinery, conducting quality checks, collaborating with the production team, ensuring proper cleaning procedures, managing tasks for operational efficiency, and complying with company policies.

Our facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with a rotating roster that may include occasional weekend work.

To be successful in this role, you will possess experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the feed, agriculture, or FMCG sector. A current forklift licence and confined space qualifications are desirable.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor grain conditioning machinery and equipment in line with daily schedules and production requirements.
  • Conduct regular quality checks, including moisture readings, grain condition monitoring, and management of critical control points.
  • Collaborate with the production team to meet daily production targets, providing shift reports and bin measurements.
  • Ensure proper cleaning procedures are followed to maintain product quality and prevent contamination.
  • Manage tasks effectively to enhance operational efficiency and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience in a manufacturing role, preferably in the feed, agriculture, or FMCG sector.
  • Current forklift licence (desirable).
  • Current confined space qualifications (desirable).
  • A willingness to learn more about flour production and the milling process.
