We have a new opportunity for you to join the Boortmalt Australia team as a Grain Handling Operator.Reporting to the Grain Handling Supervisor, you will be based at our plant in Port Adelaide. As an integral member of the production team, you will be responsible for the packaging of malt for domestic and export deliveries, whilst maintaining accurate documentation and a very high level of hygiene standards.

Main Tasks:

As a Grain Handling Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • The control of packaging equipment and interaction with transport providers to intake and out turn grain under the instructions of the Grain Handling Supervisor.
  • Performing Authorised Officer duties to meet quarantine requirements for export shipments
  • Undertaking various functions relating to the receival and testing on grain deliveries via truck and container.
  • Generating and maintaining logistics and quality documentation to meet regulatory (Australian Government) and customer requirements
  • Being accountable for the safety of yourself, your work colleagues, customers and contractors;
  • Working to achieve a zero harm environment and strive for continuous improvement on EH&S performance;
  • Understanding the aspects and impacts on the environment of site operations (FSSC 22000, ISO 14001, ISO 5001 etc.)
  • Contributing to the development of a food safety culture.
  • Rotating through other suitable roles in outloading or in production when required

You will be a self-starter, and a resilient team player able to thrive in a fast-paced working environment grasping a broad range of activities. You will also have:

  • Exposure to grain handling, food packaging or import/export operations
  • Authorised Officer certification or eligibility to obtain
  • Strong communication skills
  • Team player
  • Forklift licence
  • Exposure to ERP Systems (SAP, Maximo, Uniwin, Mapps) and advantage
