About the RoleWe're looking for safety-conscious, skilled operators to join the team at Bunge's Port Adelaide terminal. Roles involve hands-on work in grain storage, logistics, and export operations. - Ensure grain quality: Conduct grain classification and quality control procedures to maintain high product standards.
- Support export operations: Assist with bulk grain outturning, including ship loading, container packing, and coordination of road transport logistics.
- Work in the control room: Monitor and manage grain movement and site activities using basic computer systems to ensure smooth and accurate operations.
- Perform Authorised Officer duties: Undertake inspection, sampling, and documentation tasks to ensure grain meets required export standards and compliance protocols.
- Maintain storage facilities: Ensure bunkers, silos, and storage areas are clean, well-organised, and meet hygiene and safety requirements.
- Lead and support teams: Provide guidance and on-the-job support to seasonal workers during peak periods, contributing to a safe and efficient team environment.
- Monitor infrastructure: Check the condition of tarps, bunkers, and other storage infrastructure to support ongoing operational readiness.
- Carry out general maintenance: Assist with routine equipment upkeep, pest control, and site hygiene tasks to support overall terminal efficiency.
- Team Player: You thrive working collaboratively and enjoy tackling new challenges together.
- Strong Communicator: You have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, able to clearly and effectively communicate with your team and stakeholders.
- Leadership Potential: You demonstrate leadership qualities and have experience motivating and supporting others to achieve team goals.
- Relevant Experience: Previous experience in grain handling or a similar operational role is preferred but not essential—we value your willingness to learn and grow.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with commodity classification is a bonus but not required.
- Valid Driver's Licence: A current driver's licence is essential for this role.
- Safety Champion: You are committed to maintaining a safe workplace, consistently following safety procedures, and encouraging others to do the same.
