Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Highway Infrastructure Inspector to join our team. As an Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting the construction of roadworks projects to Transport and Main Roads' (DTMR) quality specifications and standards.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Using comprehensive knowledge of TMR policies, standards, and specifications to read, understand, and interpret technical documents and standards;
  • Preparing written documents, including daily diaries, submissions/reports, and test results;
  • Communicating with contractors and/or contract administrators, senior engineers, or principal representatives to keep them informed of progress and quality of works;
  • Providing effective administration, surveillance, and recording of documentation generated during the construction, including photos;

To be successful in this role, you will require a minimum of 5-10 years' extensive practical experience as a labourer, foreman, and/or supervisor in road construction and at least 1-2 years as an Asphalt or Civil Inspector working for preferably DTMR or any Australian Road Authority.

You will also need to have computer skills in Microsoft Windows operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, file management, smartphone, camera, daily diaries, and email. A driver's licence and access to your own transport are also required.

We offer comfortable accommodation Monday to Friday for those wishing to DIDO (Drive In, Drive Out), with nominally 40 hours per week and mainly day shift rosters. However, please note that there may be more or less hours due to project demands.

The proposed location is Toowoomba, but we welcome expressions of interest from candidates willing to relocate. You must have the right to work in Australia.
