Job Description

This pivotal role entails leading tax compliance and advisory activities, fostering business-critical decisions and ensuring alignment with Australian tax regulations and international standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation, review, and submission of tax returns including income tax, GST, FBT, and payroll tax.
  • Deliver accurate tax effect accounting and deferred tax calculations for financial reporting.
  • Provide clear, commercially-focused tax advice across a broad range of business transactions.
  • Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex tax matters.
  • Drive continuous improvement in tax processes and controls, with a strong focus on compliance.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in Big 4 or corporate tax, including MEC groups, tax consolidation, and deferred tax.
  • CA/CPA qualified with a Commerce or Accounting degree.
  • Deep knowledge of Australian tax law, ATO guidance, and IFRS/CORPORATIONS ACT compliance.
  • Strong Excel skills and ERP system experience (ideally JDE/ORACLE).
  • Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused with excellent communication skills.
Bonus Requirements
  • Commercial experience in the mining or heavy industries.
  • Exposure to US GAAP standards.
