About the Opportunity
CQUniversity Australia is seeking a motivated individual to join the Indigenous Student Engagement team and complete a variety of student support activities for the Rural and Remote Pilot (RRP) Project.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver student support activities for the RRP Project, including face-to-face delivery of health-related Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses to students in rural and remote areas.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, stakeholders, and staff to promote student success and engagement.
- Provide cultural support and guidance to students, staff, and stakeholders to ensure a culturally safe and inclusive environment.
- Collaborate with the Indigenous Student Engagement team to develop and implement strategies to improve educational outcomes for First Nations Peoples.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to support Indigenous student success.
Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and societies, and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
- Ability to organise and prioritise work, meet deadlines, and resolve administrative or client-related problems with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated initiative, excellent time management, problem-solving, and well-developed written communication skills for preparing quality and accurate documentation.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with experience engaging a broad range of stakeholders, including work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Regular travel to rural and remote locations will be required.
