Support Worker/Personal Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and patient individual to provide exceptional support and care to individuals with disabilities. As a Support Worker/Personal Assistant, you will empower people to live fulfilling and independent lives.

The ideal candidate is passionate, empathetic, and committed to enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities. You will work collaboratively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to implement and monitor care plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including mobility support, personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support individuals in social and community activities, encouraging their participation and promoting independence.
  • Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional support as required.
  • Implement and monitor care plans in collaboration with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being through therapeutic activities.
  • Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for clients at all times.
  • Record and report client progress and concerns in a professional manner.
  • Administer medication as per client requirements and according to prescribed guidelines.
  • Assist with household tasks, such as cleaning and organizing, to promote a healthy living environment.
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and respectful relationship with clients, their families, and the broader care team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Years of experience in disability support or similar caregiving roles.
  • Cert III or IV in Disability Support, Individual Support, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong understanding of disability rights and experience working with individuals with a range of disabilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Compassionate, patient, and understanding with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on people's lives.
  • Valid driver's license and own vehicle preferred.

**Expected hours**: 6 - 24 per week
