SME Insurance Specialist

The SME Underwriter position offers an exceptional opportunity for career advancement and integration into a purpose-driven organization. Our team is responsible for personal underwriting of small to medium-sized renewal cases, focusing on less complex risks within the portfolio, and in accordance with established strategies to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:- Underwrite the SME portfolio with a focus on renewals and new business policies as required
- Act as the primary point of contact for all SME underwriting matters and issues, providing guidance and advice when necessary, and escalating when appropriate
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, brokers, and distribution customers placing business with the organization
- Assist the Regional Manager and Product and Underwriting Team in underwriting and managing the SME portfolio of business
- Contribute to aligning risk and compliance management practices within the SME portfolio by occupying the first line of defense
ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of meeting KPIs/business goals and targets, as well as up-to-date knowledge in most aspects of general insurance including commercial insurance principles, policies, pricing, reinsurance, claims, and risk management.
