SME Insurance Specialist

The successful candidate will be responsible for the personal underwriting of small to medium renewal cases with less complex risk within our commercial insurance portfolio.
- Undertake personal underwriting of the SME portfolio, focusing on renewals and new business policies as required
- Provide considered guidance and advice on SME underwriting related matters and issues, escalating where necessary
- Establish effective working relationships with clients, brokers and distribution customers placing business with us
- Support the Regional Manager and Product and Underwriting Team in the underwriting and management of the SME portfolio of business
- Contribute to the alignment of risk and compliance management practices within the SME portfolio
The primary objective is to deliver professional and efficient customer service, achieving profitable premium growth and underwriting profitability in our core segments.
Required Skills and QualificationsWe are looking for a candidate with:
- Proven underwriting capability within the insurance sector
- Strong personal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and negotiate with key stakeholders
- Proven track record of meeting KPIs/business goals and targets
- Up-to-date knowledge of general insurance principles, including commercial insurance, policies, pricing, reinsurance, claims and risk management
