Role Overview

As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will be instrumental in helping our customers solve their data challenges using our Data Intelligence Platform.

You will work with a collaborative and customer-focused team to create customized solutions that help customers achieve their goals. Your technical expertise will be essential in demonstrating the value of our platform and ensuring customer success.

This is a mid-to-senior level role that requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for problem-solving.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain successful relationships with clients throughout your assigned territory to provide technical and business value in collaboration with an Account Executive and a Senior Solutions Architect.
  2. Conduct hands-on evaluations and Spark programming to gain excitement from clients about Databricks' capabilities, integrating with the wider cloud ecosystem and 3rd party applications.
  3. Contribute to building the Databricks technical community through engagement at workshops, seminars, and meet-ups.
  4. Act as a Big Data Analytics advisor on aspects of architecture and design, providing expert guidance to customers.
  5. Support customers by authoring reference architectures, how-tos, and demo applications.
  6. Continuously develop technically and in the pre-sales aspect with the goal of becoming an independently operating Solutions Architect.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create a compelling narrative and answer customer questions effectively.
  2. Ability to independently deliver a technical proposition, identify customers' pain-points, and explain areas for business value to develop a trusted advisor skillset.
  3. Proficiency in a core programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  4. Knowledgeable in a core Big Data Analytics domain with some exposure to proofs-of-concept and an understanding of a major public cloud platform.
  5. Experience diving deeper into solution architecture and design, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
