Acute Mental Health Care Specialist

As an Acute Mental Health Care Specialist, you will work in a multidisciplinary team providing best practice and evidence-based interventions to consumers with first-episode psychosis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care through assessment, formulation, and treatment.
  • Develop individualized recovery plans in collaboration with the team.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to minimize harm.
  • Collaborate with carers and families to support consumer recovery.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities to evaluate clinical outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Full registration with relevant AHPRA boards or eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in at least two evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or Interpersonal Therapy.
  • Relevant clinical experience in a community setting, including working with young people and their families.
  • High level of communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Current unrestricted NSW driver's license.
