Rehabilitation Specialist Role

A rehabilitation specialist plays a vital role in supporting individuals regain independence, improve their quality of life, and reintegrate into the community and the workforce.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing comprehensive assessments and developing tailored rehabilitation plans that support a whole-of-person approach to rehabilitation.
  • Utilising problem-solving skills, clinical experience, and knowledge of injury management to perform assessments and facilitate the return to work of clients.
  • Working closely with various stakeholders, including clients, families, insurance providers, employers, and other healthcare professionals to evaluate physical, psychological, and social factors.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary level qualification and registration as a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, or Provisional Psychologist, or Exercise Physiologist.
  • Previous experience completing structured assessments or passion for supporting injured individuals identify their strengths, transferable skills, and potential to establish a new career direction.
  • Experience with complex case management and supporting clients achieve their return to life or return to work outcomes despite challenging circumstances.
