Instructional Designer Role Overview

The Instructional Designer is a key member of our content development team responsible for developing innovative and high-quality e-learning solutions. We are looking for a skilled professional with expertise in instructional design to join our team.

This role involves designing learning strategies, researching source material, and writing outlines and content for courses. The successful candidate will work closely with the broader team to develop creative learning solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop training content in accordance with project briefs.
  • Research, review, analyze, and assemble source content.
  • Write learning strategies and course outlines.
  • Write and structure content in course storyboards with recommendations for interactivity, user experience, and visual elements.
  • Review existing courses and revise to include content changes and user experience improvements.
  • Peer review storyboards.
  • Review courses at each stage of production and quality assure for content accuracy, appropriate interactivity, and user experience.
  • Write course information and metadata such as course descriptions.
  • Research and write thought blogs, articles, and other customer-facing materials on learning and instructional design topics.
  • Liaise with product managers and subject matter experts.
  • Research new and emerging education best practices and suggest improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Qualification in Education, Communications, or similar field.
  • Minimum two years' professional experience in instructional design or relevant occupation.
  • Solid understanding of educational principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent written language skills, including writing in plain language, structural editing, copy editing, and proofreading.
