About the Role
As a key member of our Jeeralang site team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, contractors, and the wider community. This site-based position will require you to lead and support the implementation of health and safety programs, working closely with our Asset Leader and Gas Assets Health and Safety Leader to deliver safety services and advice to the multifaceted Jeeralang Power Station team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on health and safety systems and programs to build on the site's capabilities.
- Regularly monitor and review incidents and actions in the HSSE Management System.
- Support incident management and investigations.
- Chair the monthly Jeeralang HSE Meeting and lead safety conversations during site forums.
- Assist the site leadership team with risk management processes, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and establishment of suitable controls.
- Facilitate and support the execution of site targets and objectives, as well as implementing site and enterprise-wide improvement programs.
- Ensure the Jeeralang site team operates within EnergyAustralia's Group HSSE management system frameworks.
About You
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Health and Safety professional with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar site-based role within heavy industry. You will have strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A Certificate IV in Work, Health & Safety is also a minimum qualification requirement.
