Job Title: STEM Engagement Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a STEM Engagement Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program, including recruiting, training, and placing university student mentors in local schools.

About the Program

The STEM Engagement Program is designed to increase science and mathematics engagement in secondary school students in Victoria. Our program places volunteer university students studying a STEM degree in school science, mathematics, technology, and engineering classes over a 10-week period.

As a STEM Engagement Coordinator, you will work closely with our program manager and other coordinators at partner universities to ensure the successful implementation of the program. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills in project management, communication, and leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit, train, and place university student mentors in local schools;
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase program participation and engagement;
  • Provide support and guidance to student mentors throughout the program;
  • Collaborate with program managers and coordinators at partner universities to achieve program goals.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you will need:

  • A degree in a related field (e.g. education, science, mathematics);
  • Relevant experience in education or a related field;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in software applications.
