Assistant Pastor Job Description

The role of an Assistant Pastor is to support the Senior Minister in providing spiritual leadership, teaching, and pastoral care to the congregation.

This includes assisting in leading worship services, preaching, and teaching as assigned, as well as providing pastoral care through visitation, prayer, counseling, and support for members in need.

  • Supporting the Senior Minister in planning and executing church events, retreats, and outreach activities
  • Coordinating and leading specific ministry areas, such as children's ministry or small groups
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of Christian education and discipleship programs

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Theology or equivalent qualification, minimum of two years' experience in a related field, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with people of different ages and backgrounds.
