About the Role

As an Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician, you will provide essential mental health services to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal individuals with mental illness, distress, and/or risk issues.

This role is part of a multidisciplinary team working within a recovery-focused framework to deliver culturally competent care. The position requires strong communication skills, empathy, and understanding of local Aboriginal culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment, care coordination, intervention, liaison, advocacy, and review as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Deliver person-centered and holistic care that promotes self-determination.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Health Science (Mental Health), or qualifications and registration for Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers for Social Workers.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate with consumers, their families, and carers.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Electronic Medical Record Programs.
  • Familiarity with Mental Health & Alcohol and Other Drugs strategic directions.

  • Psychologist – $74,742 – $109,397 per annum
  • Registered Nurse – $70,049 – $98,351 per annum
  • Social Worker Level 1/2 – $70,944 – $101,211 per annum
  • Rural Incentive: Up to $5,000 (as part of NSW Health Rural Incentive scheme)
