As a key player in our team, you will be responsible for managing and mitigating risks within the wholesale energy markets. Working closely with trading and risk management professionals, you will analyze market data, evaluate potential risks, and develop strategies to optimize trading outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Risk Analysis: Conduct thorough assessments of the wholesale energy markets, identifying potential risks and opportunities for hedging strategies.
  • Market Monitoring: Monitor market movements and regulatory changes to identify emerging risks and inform trading decisions.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize advanced analytical tools to interpret large datasets, generating insights that drive risk management strategies.
  • Risk Mitigation: Implement risk mitigation techniques, ensuring exposure to market fluctuations is effectively managed.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. A postgraduate degree is advantageous.
  • 5+ years of experience in a risk analyst role, preferably within the energy or financial markets.
  • Strong knowledge of wholesale energy markets: demonstrated understanding of energy market dynamics, pricing mechanisms, and risk management strategies.
  • Analytical proficiency: proficient in using data analysis tools, such as Excel, Python, or R, to extract insights and create risk models.
  • Problem-solving skills: ability to identify and assess risks proactively, proposing effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Effective communication: excellent communication skills to convey complex risk analyses to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
