High Voltage Specialist Role

The High Voltage Specialist plays a pivotal role in overseeing and ensuring the overall compliance of an energy isolation program.

Establishing acceptance criteria for authorizing campus energy isolation plans, implementing learnings, and driving rigor into the program to meet or exceed safety policy requirements is a key aspect of this position.

Utilizing local codes and standards as the foundation for the energy isolation program across the campus, the specialist establishes a centralized Lockout Tag Out (LOTO) procedure for all entities.

Closely coordinating energy isolation activities with ongoing updates and liaising with the construction team helps mitigate impacts on data center operations.

As a subject matter expert, the High Voltage Specialist participates in high-risk activity planning meetings related to energy isolation.

Ensuring high-risk Statements Of Work, Standard Operating Procedures, and Maintenance Operating Procedures are reviewed, with all energy sources identified, is crucial.

The specialist generates monthly reports on activities and the overall status of the energy isolation program.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 years of technical engineering experience or equivalent qualifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, along with at least 2 years of technical engineering experience.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, accompanied by at least 1 year of technical engineering experience.

Background Check Requirements:

  • Ability to meet security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check, Citizenship Verification, and possibly NV1/2, PV Clearance Assessment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in critical environment standards, communication skills, interpretation of technical drawings, and control of hazardous energy.
  • Experience with building MEP systems, electrical theory, construction documentation, and building management systems.
