Fibrous Plasterer Job Description

Our company is a medium-sized building and plumbing maintenance business based in western Sydney. We support large commercial clients and pride ourselves on delivering quality service at a reasonable price, which has kept our customers loyal for years.

We seek an experienced Fibrous Plasterer to join our team. As a key member, you will be responsible for:

  • Installing suspended ceilings and fire-rating systems.
  • Insulating and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster, plastic cement, and other materials.
  • Measuring and cutting plasterboard and positioning panels to secure them to walls, ceilings, and/or battens.
  • Designing decorative finishes for internal and external walls, including mixing different materials.
  • Installing pre-cast plaster panels or corner beads to ceilings, walls, and battens.

To succeed, you must have:

  • A Trade Certificate, commensurate with AQF Certificate III, or AQF Certificate IV, with 2 years of on-the-job training.
  • At least three years of experience.
  • A Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • A Valid Driver's license.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has a 'can do' attitude, and excellent attention to detail. They can work independently and as part of a team, with a friendly nature and good sense of humour.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Install suspended ceilings and fire-rating systems.
  • Ensure the structural integrity of buildings through insulating and fireproofing materials.
  • Measure and cut plasterboard to ensure precise placement.
  • Design visually appealing finishes using mixed materials.
  • Install pre-cast plaster panels or corner beads to enhance visual appeal.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Hold a Trade Certificate, AQF Certificate III, or AQF Certificate IV.
  • Have at least three years of experience in the field.
  • Possess a valid White Card and driver's license.
