Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel

About the Role:

  • Support ARN's Leaders and businesses with legal and compliance obligations – particularly for the Content teams, including KIIS and Gold.
  • Various business advisory services including contractual and licensing advice, advertising advisory, prepublication and compliance advice, regulatory and policy issues.
  • Assisting with the implementation of policy and procedures for pre-broadcast risk management.
  • Implementation of policy and procedures to ensure ARN is up to date with new and emerging regulation e.g. privacy and data management.
  • Strong service-orientation and client service approach. Engage a partnering approach in supporting the business in achieving project outcomes, with a strong contextual understanding of overall ARN commercial imperatives.
  • National role, based in Sydney.
  • Reporting to ARN's Chief Legal Officer & Company Secretary and part of overall ARN Legal team of 4 lawyers.
  • Prefer full time, but would consider part time for the right candidate.

About You:

  • Law firm experience or media in-house experience, preferably in media or other regulated environment.
  • Commercial, broadcasting, intellectual property, privacy and data experience not essential but highly valued.
  • Excellent communication, personal skills and stakeholder management ability.
  • Understanding of risk management and commercial drivers.
  • Experience in commercial drafting and contract negotiation.
  • Solid commercial law experience.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail and initiative.
  • Degree qualified in law. Prefer hold current practising certificate in NSW.
  • Ideally you will have over 5 years PQE Degree qualified.
