We are seeking a highly skilled urban planning professional to join our team and contribute to the development of strategic policy, urban planning, and development projects that relate to the management of the public urban forest.

As part of our City and Environment Directorate, you will play a key role in guiding the implementation of programs to deliver the actions and outcomes in the Urban Forest Strategy. You will also be responsible for supervising, managing, and motivating a team, as well as providing appropriate support and guidance.

">Key Responsibilities:">
  • Develop and implement strategic policy and urban planning initiatives that support a liveable city and the natural environment.">
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improving urban forestry practices and develop solutions to address these challenges.">
  • Lead a team of professionals in delivering high-quality projects and services that meet the needs of our community.">
  • Maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.">
Requirements:">

To be successful in this role, you will need:

">
  • A degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Landscape Architecture, or Urban Park Management, or the equivalent in a related discipline.">
  • Proven experience in urban planning, policy development, and project management.">
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.">
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.">
  • A valid driver's license (Class C) and willingness to work flexibly, including occasional travel.">
