Job Overview

This position serves as the lead of the Regulatory and Complex Disputes unit, delivering expert legal guidance and managing high-stakes litigation. The team collaborates closely with senior professionals across the Workplace and Education Law branch.

Main Responsibilities
  • Co-lead and direct the RCD unit to provide strategic leadership and expert advice.
  • Manage complex and sensitive litigation in commissions, courts, and tribunals, ensuring timely and effective outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Directors and other senior lawyers to drive work priorities and develop strategies for successful dispute resolution.
  • Prioritize matters, providing urgent advice when necessary, demonstrating exceptional communication, leadership, people management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Key Qualifications and Skills
  • The ability to prioritize complex matters and deliver timely advice is crucial.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills are essential for success.
  • Experience in litigation and legal practice relevant to education, including occupational health and safety, FOI, privacy, and regulatory matters affecting schools and early childhood services, is highly valued.
