Senior Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at Monash Health, as part of the FASDConnect initiative. This pioneering role will provide vital support, advocacy, and intervention to help create bright futures for children and families affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).
About the FASDConnect InitiativeThe FASDConnect initiative is a new state-wide partnership between Monash Health and the Victorian Department of Health, aimed at supporting the Targeted Support for Children in Out of Home Care project. The initiative aims to:
- increase early identification and diagnosis of children and young people with FASD in the Out of Home Care system through education of its staff;
- build capacity of the health system to identify, diagnose, and respond to FASD;
- increase awareness and skills in the child protection workforce to collect and document information about prenatal alcohol exposure to support diagnosis;
- intersect with the established Monash Health FASD Services.
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following experience and skills:
- Experience in identifying, diagnosing, and responding to FASD;
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with families, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams;
- Experience working in secondary consultation models of care;
- Creating and delivering evidence-based education material;
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapist or Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent;
- Current general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Occupational Therapy, with no restrictions.
