Job Description

This is an opportunity for a highly skilled professional to have a significant impact on the further growth of information management maturity in their organization.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's information governance program. The program ensures that the organization's information assets are managed securely, are compliant with relevant legislation, and align with organizational policies, goals, and objectives.

You will assist in reviewing and submitting records authorities, creating disposal schedules for Class C records, assessing business systems using the National Archives' Business Systems Assessment Framework, and completing tasks such as drafting surveys to help meet the Building Trust in the Public Record Policy.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Information Governance Officer is expected to collaborate on complex work with limited direction, exercising initiative and judgment in policy interpretation and applying practices and procedures. The role provides professional and policy advice on complex problems and may assist in strategic planning, program, and project management, and policy development. The officer will liaise with stakeholders in a representational role.

Requirements
  • A strong understanding of information management and governance practices.
  • Experience in using Enterprise Data Management Systems such as Content Manager and Microsoft 365.
  • Knowledge of the Building Trust in the Public Record policy and its practical application.
  • Analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and often rapidly changing environment.
  • Focus on collaboration and teamwork.

The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
