Culinary Operations Manager Job Opportunity

Challenger Services Group is a leading provider of service solutions across various industries.

We are seeking an experienced part-time Kitchen Stewarding Supervisor to join our team at one of Melbourne's most iconic 5-star hotels. The primary focus will be on assisting the Chief Steward to manage a large kitchen stewarding team and ensuring high service delivery expectations within the F&B department are met.

About the Role:
  • Supervise the kitchen stewards and oversee the day-to-day operations of the stewarding department.
  • Rostering, delegation of duties, and administrative tasks as required.
  • Train team members, ensuring they maintain a professional manner and are up-to-date with hotel events and kitchen requirements.
  • Manage and maintain a clean and tidy working environment for all hotel outlet kitchens.
  • Work effectively with the stewarding team to ensure food hygiene and Workplace Health and Safety requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Supervise kitchen stewards and oversee daily operations.
  2. Roster, delegate tasks, and perform administrative duties as needed.
  3. Train team members to maintain professionalism and stay updated on hotel events.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  5. Collaborate with the stewarding team to meet food safety and workplace health standards.
  6. Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and machinery.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a senior supervisory role within a 4-5 star hotel or similar F&B environment.
  • High-volume operation experience in a 4-5 star hotel setting.
  • Ability to work across a rotating 7-day roster.
  • Strong understanding of Food Safety, HACCP, and Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
