Senior Tax Professional Opportunity in Australia and New Zealand

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Adviser to join our team at Ventia, a leading infrastructure services company operating across Australia and New Zealand.
As a key member of our tax team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that Ventia meets all its taxation obligations on time and within the context of our tax risk and governance frameworks.
Your primary focus will be on GST and FBT across the group, supporting our wider finance function and business in relation to all taxation matters.
Located at our North Sydney head office, we offer a flexible work atmosphere with opportunities to split your time between the office and working from home.
Key Responsibilities:- Responsibility for all tax compliance obligations for both Australia and New Zealand, with a focus on GST, FBT, withholding tax, and fuel tax credits.
- Accurate and timely preparation of the Group's Joint Venture income tax returns.
- Preparation of workpapers, position papers, and file notes to support adopted positions.
- Assistance with statutory tax reporting, budgeting, forecasting, half-year and year-end audit, and updates to Ventia's Tax Corporate Governance frameworks.
- Performance of reconciliations of tax accounts and reviews of business system processes to ATO best practice for continuous improvement.
- Provision of proactive and practical advice to stakeholders across the business.
- Maintenance of up-to-date knowledge of legislative tax changes and their potential impacts on the business.
- Liaison with internal and external stakeholders on all tax matters and queries, as well as performance of ad-hoc projects and general administration.
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting, preferably completed or nearing completion of the CA or CTA.
- Demonstrated experience working on GST and FBT tax matters for large organisations, with exposure to Big 4 an advantage but not essential.
- A high degree of curiosity and ability to challenge the status quo.
- Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Suite, OneSource CCH Tax Integrator, ITX Edge, or similar.
- Well-developed communication, attention to detail, and analytical skills, with the ability to partner with various internal and external stakeholders.
- An estimated salary of AUD $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
