Berry Street is a leading provider of services to vulnerable children, young people, and families in Victoria. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Kinship Engagement Worker to join our team.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain relationships with kinship carers, families, and community services to ensure optimal support for kinship care arrangements and children living in kinship care.
- Organize, coordinate, and facilitate regular kinship carer support groups, carer events, and activities to promote connection and community building.
- Provide brief one-to-one outreach support to kinship carers, children in their care, and their extended support networks to address specific needs and concerns.
- Network with key stakeholders to build connections and promote Berry Street's Kinship Care service, facilitating new referrals to the program.
- Collaborate with the kinship care team to develop and implement strategies to improve outcomes for kinship carers and children.
- Diploma qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, or a related discipline.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Commitment to the values and principles of Berry Street, including a strong focus on child safety and well-being.
- $97,000 per annum (pro rata) + superannuation and salary packaging.
- 10 weeks paid parental leave and other generous leave conditions.
