About the Opportunity

This position offers the chance to enhance Umwelt's reputation for ecological projects in Victoria and expand our service capacity in this area. We are seeking an Environmental Consultant who is looking to progress their career in ecological consulting.

The ideal candidate should have previous experience in conducting ecological fieldwork in Victoria and a strong motivation to develop technical skills across diverse projects. We provide support for your technical development, flexible work arrangements, and recognition of your accomplishments within our collaborative team.

About You

We are looking for an Environmental Consultant who has the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, botany, zoology, or similar fields
  • 1-5 years' relevant experience, with prior consulting experience highly regarded
  • Experience with Victorian biodiversity survey and assessment requirements
  • Prior knowledge of State and Commonwealth environmental legislation
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, including clients, government agencies, and fellow team members
  • Demonstrated ability in collecting and interpreting ecological and spatial data
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report preparation
  • Highly motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel for work
