As a Sustainability Professional, you will have the unique opportunity to work on a landmark project in the Asia Pacific region. This role involves owning all aspects of sustainability, particularly social and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key community stakeholders, ensuring inclusive and transparent engagement.
- Manage identified social impacts and risks, implementing mitigation actions as needed.
- Implement the Stakeholder Management Plan, overseeing ongoing engagement with affected communities.
- Manage the Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM), ensuring effective communication and resolution.
- Lead the execution of the Community Development Plan, working collaboratively with local communities and NGOs.
- Conduct socio-economic surveys and needs assessments to inform community investment priorities.
- Ensure community development activities are inclusive, gender-sensitive, and culturally appropriate.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of community development programs, reporting outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement the Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) compliant IFC Performance Standard 3.
- Oversee environmental monitoring programs for aspects including air quality, noise, waste, biodiversity, and land use.
- Manage internal and external environmental reporting obligations, maintaining transparency and compliance.
- Education: Master's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Social Development, Natural Resource Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental and social performance in large-scale infrastructure or extractives (mining, oil & gas, energy).
- Familiarity with complex regulatory settings and international standards such as the IFC Performance Standards. Experience working with complex tribal communities.
