About the Role

This role is a leadership position that oversees AI experimentation and innovation, enabling the organization to explore and scale emerging AI solutions. The successful candidate will lead a newly formed enterprise lab focused on AI research and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the AI Lab team to identify, design, and prototype AI use cases aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Build a culture of experimentation while ensuring governance and ethical AI practices.
  • Develop and mature the AI Lab operating model, including governance, metrics, and prioritization.
  • Manage the innovation pipeline and champion use cases from ideation to scaling.
  • Provide technical and strategic leadership to ensure secure scalable AI architecture patterns, rigorous testing and clear success criteria.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to transition successful experiments into production.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AI and innovation, with the ability to translate emerging technologies into practical, impactful solutions. They will be a pragmatic calm leader, capable of leading cross-functional teams and influencing enterprise direction.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Proven experience leading AI or innovation teams in lab or proof-of-concept environments.
  • Strong technical foundation in AI/ML concepts and experimentation frameworks.
  • Expertise in Microsoft AI services (Co-pilot, AI Foundry), Databricks, and other major platforms.
  • Experience designing and reviewing AI architectures and transitioning PoCs to production.
  • Ability to turn ambiguous ideas into testable hypotheses and structured experiments.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional leadership skills.
