Software Engineering Lead

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Lead to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of software upgrades to aircraft mission systems, ground support and training systems.

About the Role
  • Leverage your technical expertise to drive innovation and excellence in software development.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products that meet customer needs.
  • Develop and implement effective project management strategies to ensure timely and successful delivery of projects.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical Leadership - communicate effectively with stakeholders, manage technical risks, and oversee software delivery teams.
  2. Primary Technical Point of Contact (POC) for software delivery, managing deliverables and reporting.
  3. Change Management – lead change integration across teams and assess impact within Software Services.
  4. Quality Management – assure engineering outputs meet quality standards and resolve non-conformances and defects.
Requirements
  • Qualifications in engineering or equivalent technical experience.
  • Familiarity with engineering processes and approaches to deliver weapon system software upgrades, preferably in an aerospace regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering projects in complex business environments, preferably with direct experience of software projects.
  • Knowledge of the E-7 Enterprise will be considered advantageous.
  • Australian citizenship is required to meet defence security requirements.
