Director of Translational Research and Strategy

Mater Group, a leading not-for-profit healthcare service in Queensland, is seeking an exceptional leader to fill the role of Executive Director / Chief Research Officer. As a key member of the Mater Group leadership team, this position plays a critical role in driving the strategic direction of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and operational management of all organisational matters, ensuring alignment with Mater Group's vision and goals.
- Develop and implement a high-quality strategic plan, addressing complex challenges and opportunities in the funding environment.
- Cultivate relationships with government, philanthropic organisations, medical research institutes, hospitals, and industry partners to promote Mater Research and drive collaboration.
- Drive the development of a world-class medical research institute, integrating with areas of excellence within the health services provided by the Mater Hospitals.
- Tertiary qualification(s) in a relevant field, such as medicine, science, or allied health.
- PhD or MD by research in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Exceptional ability to provide strategic leadership, manage complex organisations, and represent the Institute effectively.
- Demonstrated academic track record at Professorial or Associate Professor level in a research-intensive university or medical research institute.
- Proven ability to retain, build, and inspire a bright and creative team towards optimum performance.

SalaryThe estimated salary for this position is AU$250,000 - AU$350,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
