Job Title

We are seeking skilled professionals to fill the role of a Mechanical Tradesperson in our Newcastle team.

This is a full-time permanent position offering a competitive salary package and strong work-life balance.

The ideal candidate will possess mechanical skills, knowledge, and experience working on conveyor systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing daily mechanical maintenance tasks
  • Ensuring plant and equipment are safe and reliable
  • Leading, mentoring, and coordinating trades teams and belt splicers
  • Carrying out pulley and bearing maintenance
  • Liaising with clients and managing expectations onsite
  • Conducting inspections, audits, and reporting to WHSE standards

A Certificate of Proficiency in Engineering – Mechanical or Engineering – Fabrication is required, as well as experience with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.

The successful candidate will have a strong focus on safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead small teams.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate of Proficiency in Engineering – Mechanical or Engineering – Fabrication

Experience:

  • Experience with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Dogging and Rigging tickets

Skills:

  • Strong communication and client liaison skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead small teams
  • Comfortable mentoring less experienced staff
