About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Coordinator to oversee the Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) service at Gosford Hospital. As the Coordinator, you will ensure smooth and safe operation of the service by liaising with other mental health services across the Central Coast regarding referral, admission, and transfer of care for consumers receiving ECT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate nursing practices throughout the delivery of ECT, ensuring compliance with the ECT Minimum Standard of Practice in NSW
  • Prepare and complete documentation for each patient
  • Conduct routine checks of the ECT device and necessary equipment
  • Advocate for patients and their families
  • Inform patients and their carers about all aspects of ECT in conjunction with the treating team

About You:

  • You have a current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • A current Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required
  • Experience in Anaesthetics or peri-operative nursing is highly desirable
  • Experience in Mental Health assessments, client management and nursing interventions in an acute inpatient mental health setting is desirable
