About the Role

The Australian Red Cross is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the strategic and operational management of community programs and business operations in the Northern Territory. This critical leadership role is responsible for brokering local, regional, and territory sector collaborations and partnerships to advance the organization's strategic and revenue generation objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a geographically dispersed workforce of staff and volunteers to deliver strategically aligned community programs.
  • Broker local, regional, and territory sector, community, and government collaborations and partnerships to advance the organization's strategic and revenue generation objectives.
  • Mobilize volunteers, members, and communities to access and support Australian Red Cross at the local, regional, and territory level.
  • Represent the organization and promote its interests at key forums and with key stakeholders.
  • Lead and coach community mobilization and business operations-focused team members.
Requirements
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and proficiency in collaboration, resource planning, and prioritization.
  • Thorough knowledge of solution-focused customer service practices.
  • Well-developed cultural competence skills and the ability to work with and lead teams of people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong understanding of community resilience, preparedness, and recovery program models.
  • Evidenced ability to research, assimilate, and analyze complex information and use it to optimize and continuously improve business approaches and models.
  • Strong ability to use a data-driven approach to monitor performance, identify issues, and develop and implement corrective actions.
  • Strong understanding of key drivers of success within teams to enable the achievement of organizational goals.
  • Ability to think and plan goals in the long term as well as in the present.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead teams in a continuous improvement approach to program implementation and ways of working.
  • Proven track record as an effective leader, supporting and building positive and constructive relationships within teams.
  • High-level communication skills catering for diversity within the team, and the ability to express ideas clearly, listen effectively, and provide feedback constructively.
  • Substantial demonstrated knowledge and experience in providing programs to consumers from diverse backgrounds and cultures, including First Nations, CALD, and LGBTQIA+.
  • Ability to operate under limited direction from senior employees and work with and lead teams and people from diverse backgrounds and create a collaborative working environment.
  • High-level of interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Undertake significant projects involving sound analytical skills and demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate, and solve problems.
