Job Role Summary:

  • We are seeking an experienced Pathology Collector to join our team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and processing pathology samples in a safe and efficient manner.

About the Position:

  • This role is ideal for individuals who have a strong passion for delivering high-quality patient care and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • You will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure that all samples are collected, processed, and dispatched promptly.
  • In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to infection control procedures, and participating in ongoing training and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood and non-blood samples from patients using aseptic techniques and following established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of sample collection, including patient identification, sample type, and any relevant clinical information.
  • Prepare and package samples for transport to laboratories, ensuring that they are properly labeled and stored at the correct temperature.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in a related field (e.g., Nursing, Science) or equivalent experience.
  • Current certification in Phlebotomy or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
