About the Role

The Support Class Teacher (Autism) is a full-time position that involves teaching students with autism spectrum disorder, coordinating student enrolment and transition, and collaborating with mainstream teachers to address additional needs.

Key responsibilities include creating a supportive learning environment tailored to students' requirements, developing interventions for students with autism, and designing positive support strategies for challenging behaviours.

To be successful in this role, applicants must have qualifications in Religious Education or be willing to pursue relevant study, as well as special education experience and expertise in teaching in a specialist setting.

This role requires strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

The ideal candidate will design and implement individualised education plans, differentiate learning to meet students' diverse needs, and develop personalised learning strategies.
