Financial Partnership Specialist

Job Description:

The ideal candidate for this role will be a seasoned finance professional with expertise in financial discipline, strategic planning, and staff management. As the Financial Partner for our editorial business, you will work closely with newsroom leaders to ensure fiscal responsibility and provide actionable financial insights.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic finance partner to editorial leaders, providing clear, data-driven financial insights.
  • Manage and control the entire editorial cost base, focusing on staff and content-related expenses.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes for all editorial cost centers, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Provide insightful analysis on financial performance, identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings and growth.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in finance or commercial accounting, with a degree and/or CA/CPA qualification.
  • Proven business partnering skills, including the ability to translate financial concepts for non-finance teams.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with confidence to liaise with senior stakeholders.
  • Expertise in core financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reporting.
  • Experience in media/publishing, managing staff costs, and using systems such as D365, TM1, SAP, or Tableau is highly desirable.
